What inspired you to join this SBCA?
I had known about SBCA for years, and a friend from my time in the carpenters union was already a member. When a board position opened up, I applied, aiming to connect with fellow trade professionals and integrate more into the Santa Barbara construction community.Describe your professional background and key accomplishments relevant to your role on the board.
I started as a union carpenter, then became a general contractor. I have 20 years of well-rounded experience in the construction industry. Additionally, my tenure as the board president for my mobile home park has provided valuable board experience. What motivates you in your work within the construction industry?
I enjoy creating and improving living spaces. This aligns with my creativity, and I appreciate the freedom and autonomy that comes with working for myself.Share a notable experience or achievement during your time on the board.
As a relatively new board member, my experience has been positive. I'm particularly impressed with SBCA's involvement in the trade art program at local high schools. How do you see SBCA evolving in the next few years?
The construction trades symposium was informative and enjoyable. I see potential for more programs like these within SBCA.Outside of your professional life, what are some hobbies or interests?
I enjoy anything outdoors, the beach, bike rides, and hiking. Lately, I have been taking salsa dance classes!
