  1. What inspired you to join this SBCA?
Our company originally joined the SBCA for networking within the contracting community in Santa Barbara.

  2. Describe your professional background and key accomplishments relevant to your role on the board.
I professionally cut my teeth in the window covering and design industry starting as an installer at the age of 18. Over the years I worked in all facets of the business from sales to marketing to management before opening our own company. I have also served on several boards over the years.

  3. What motivates you in your work within the construction industry?
I love the creative outlet that my job allows me to express. To start on a project, especially here in this town, and see it through to the final phases is such an amazing feeling. I also could never imagined not working in some capacity with my hands. It brings me great personal and professional fulfillment to be a part of creating beautiful and functional spaces for our clients.

  4. Share a notable experience or achievement during your time on the board.
I joined the board during COVID-19, so I would have to say that just the experience of helping to guide the organization through such change has been quite the experience. It has been very challenging and rewarding.

  5. Would have to say How do you see SBCA evolving in the next few years?
Though we have some experienced previous board members in our ranks, we are a very fresh and new board that is looking to push the SBCA into the future over the coming years. So much has changed at such a quick pace over the last 5-10 years that staying up to date with technology and trends is always a challenge. As a board, we look forward to setting the SBCA up progressively and adaptively for the years to come. Though the way people access information and ideas has changed greatly, I still see the SBCA as a critical partner to our Santa Barbara contracting community for many years to come.

  6. Outside of your professional life, what are some hobbies or interests?
I love to explore and adventure with my family. We are outdoorsy and can’t get enough of all the amazing things to do in California. Hiking, surfing, biking, and camping are some of our favorites.

We are also big soccer and music fans and love to attend games and concerts in LA. I guess it is the builder side of myself, but I have never given up my affinity for Lego sets and have become a collector over the years.
