Brendan Blouin emigrated to Santa Barbara from Boston after college in 1998.

As fate would have it, Blue, as he is more commonly known, moved into an apartment above a tile company where he worked for 10 years.
In 2007, he came to work for the Contractors Association as the Member Services Representative where he signed up over 300 members during his tenure.

Returning to the tile industry in 2010, Blue became the Branch Manager at yet another local tile store. In 2022, Blue accepted the position of Vice President of Trade Sales for Alexander James. Headquartered here in Santa Barbara, Alexander James provides a curated brand of tile, stone and other architectural products nationally thru an online platform.

A strong proponent of licensed contractors and continuing education, Blue would look to tap his strong social skills to connect the stakeholders in a strong Contractor’s Association to ensure that the Santa Barbara market has a pipeline of licensed, skilled contractors and labor to maintain the high quality of construction found locally.
