Thank you so much for joining us for our 2022 Construction Awards Banquet on Friday, October 28th, 2022 at the Cabrillo Pavilion in Santa Barbara!

It was great to see everyone and have a fun night celebrating excellence in our building community. We are proud of all of our entrants. It was wonderful to showcase the incredible projects our members have worked on and entered in the awards competition. Our community is blown away by the talent, creativity, and hard work that went into each and every project. Our members have overcome challenges in the industry, from supply chain issues, labor shortages, inflation, and more, and created beautiful work. We are thankful to have such an incredible group in our association.

Congratulations to our winners! See winners and event photos below. All entrant projects featured at the bottom of the page.

Thank you Sharon Fritz, our Board President, for sharing with attendees about the SBCA, TRADART Foundation, our board, partnership with the AIA SB, and more. You are an amazing leader and we appreciate all you have done for the association.

Thank you to our board members for your help throughout the year as we planned this evening. It was another incredible event. Thank you to Erwin, Isa, Daniel, Sharon, and Andrew for presenting our award winners.

Thank you to our judges for participating in the judging process. It was a great experience and we appreciate how you used your expertise to review projects anonymously to select winners based on the work itself.

Thank you to TRADART Foundation for joining us with your staff, board, and some students. We are thankful to work together and support our next generation of builders.

The SBCA will be having the awards every other year to give you time to plan, get photos taken, submit projects, etc. We look forward to our next awards event coming up Fall 2024.

We would like to recognize that our partnership with the American Institute of Architects – Santa Barbara (AIA SB) is long standing and we are grateful to work with an association deeply invested in our community. This year, we feature an outstanding project submitted by Michael Holliday of DMHA | Architect & Design Firm, a proud member of both the SBCA and AIA SB. The Spyglass Ridge Road Residence – it is a great example of what our community can achieve through the relationship between architects and builders.

All projects are judged anonymously by a team of leaders in our construction community. Judges and their companies do not have any projects in the running. Projects are judged by multiple judges from various fields in the construction industry to bring different points of view, design eyes, and experience. Project submissions are featured by SBCA Active Contractor & Subcontractor Members only. Members submit projects in certain award categories, following strict guidelines with active licenses and all permits in order. Thank you judges for helping us this year!
